Questions You'll Wish You Asked: A Time Capsule Journal for Fathers and Daughters
"This journal deepens the father/daughter bond while creating a keepsake for when conversation is no longer possible.
With journaling questions for Dad such as:
"What is a concert you'll never forget?"
"What should I look for in a relationship?"
"When you're gone, what is something you'll want me to remember you saying?"
These questions will transport you from the daily routine into a time when the ordinary has been rendered sacred.
Whether you're a parent looking to leave a legacy to your child, or a child recording memories of your parent, make time for the questions you'll later wish you asked: your future self will thank you.
Commonly asked questions:
Who is this journal for?
The journal provides over 100 questions for a father to answer for his daughter. It makes a perfect baby shower gift for a new father of a baby girl, keepsake gift for an aging father or daughter, and thoughtful present for fathers and daughters of all stages in between.
Some adult children sit with their parents and fill out the journal while asking the questions: this invites thoughtful conversations, generational connection, and intimacy. Others choose to purchase the journal for themselves, fill it out, and later present it as a gift to their children.
This journal can be an especially thoughtful gift for a father who has lost a parent; these fathers often deeply recognize the importance of recording thoughts and memories for their children. This journal is also a thoughtful gift for adult children whose parents may be struggling with early signs of memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's; asking these questions can jog a parent's memory, inspire thoughtful conversation, or simply provide a space to appreciate the parent who still remains.
What if I have multiple kids? Do I need multiple journals?
Most of the questions in this journal are about Dad himself, but there are also questions particular to each child. For this reason, most parents choose to have one journal for each child; this also eliminates the need to "choose" who eventually receives the journal. However, it's also possible to answer these particular questions separately for each child within one journal. (One could split an answer on the 6x9 journal page provided, and use the blank pages included at the end of the journal if more room is needed.) "

The Twentysomething Treatment: A Revolutionary Remedy for an Uncertain Age
The author of The Defining Decade explains why the twenties are the most challenging time of life and reveals essential skills for handling the uncertainties surrounding work, love, friendship, mental health, and more during that decade and beyond. There is a young adult mental health crisis in America. So many twentysomethings are struggling--especially with anxiety, depression, and substance use--yet, as a culture, we are not sure what to think or do about it. Perhaps, it is said, young adults are snowflakes who melt when life turns up the heat. Or maybe, some argue, they're triggered for no reason at all. Yet, even as we trivialize twentysomething struggles, we are quick to pathologize them and to hand out diagnoses and medications. Medication is sometimes, but not always, the best medicine. For twenty-five years, Meg Jay has worked as a clinical psychologist who specializes in twentysomethings, and here she argues that most don't have disorders that must be treated: they have problems that can be solved. In these pages, she offers a revolutionary remedy that upends the medicalization of twentysomething life and advocates instead for skills over pills. In The Twentysomething Treatment, Jay teaches us:
-How to think less about "what if" and more about "what is."
-How to feel uncertain without coming undone.
-How to work--at work--toward competence and calm.
-How to be social when social media functions as an evolutionary trap.
-How to befriend someone and why this is more crucial for survival than ever.
-How to love someone even though they may break your heart.
-How to have sex when porn is easier and more available.
-How to move, literally, toward happiness and health.
-How to cook your way into confidence and connection.
-How to change a bad habit you may not know you have.
-How to decide when so much about life is undecided.
-How to choose purpose at work and in love. The Twentysomething Treatment is a book that offers help and hope to millions of young adults--and to the friends, parents, partners, teachers, and mentors who care about them--just when they need it the most. It is essential reading for anyone who wants to find out how to improve our mental health by improving how we handle the uncertainties of life. -

Choice or Chance: Understanding Your Locus of Control and Why It Matters
How Much Do You Believe That What Happens to You Is the Result of Your Own Actions-or Do Circumstances Beyond Your Control Largely Determine Your Fate? Locus of Control (LOC) is a phrase used by psychologists to describe a widely effective way of assessing an individual's potential for success-personal, social, and financial.LOC measures how much you believe what happens to you is the result of your own actions or, conversely, of forces and circumstances beyond your control. People who accept that they are largely in control of their lives tend to do better than those who feel that fate or external factors rule what they do, especially in novel and difficult situations. This book explains LOC research, until now mainly confined to academic circles, in terms easily understandable to the average person. The author, a clinical psychologist who has spent nearly five decades investigating and writing about LOC, helps the reader to explore his or her own locus of control and what those orientations might mean for how life is lived. He discusses the extensively documented relationship between LOC and academic achievement, personal and social adjustment, health, and financial success. Dr. Nowicki notes that there has been an increasing tendency among Americans to feel as though their lives are slipping out of their control, and he identifies ways to reverse this negative trend. He describes how the Locus of Control is learned and demonstrates ways in which it can be changed to yield higher levels of achievement, success, personal satisfaction, and better interactions with others. -
