Head of Growth

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 + Equity
Location: Hybrid, Los Angeles

Role Description:

As the Head of Growth for Allstora, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing comprehensive marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility, drive sales, and foster customer engagement. This role requires a creative and data-driven individual with a proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy to drive revenue and market expansion, with a specific focus on scaling monthly subscriptions across our portfolio of book clubs.
  2. Plan and execute creative data-driven digital advertising campaigns across various platforms, including Google, Meta and TikTok ads to drive subscription growth, brand visibility and increased engagement.
  3. Develop and execute engaging email and SMS marketing campaigns to create awareness, retain consumers, and drive subscriptions. Utilize segmentation, personalization, and automation tools to optimize campaign performance and maximize ROI.
  4. Connect the customer-journey across multiple touchpoints, including email, mobile, web, content engagement and events, bringing together cohesive experiences to ultimately drive conversions.
  5. Work closely with technology, product, and operations teams to ensure alignment and follow-through in all growth activities.
  6. Lead and manage marketing contractors to ensure high-quality content creation and campaign execution.
  7. Develop and manage the budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to drive growth.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a marketing leadership role, with a strong background in digital marketing
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing innovative marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition and brand growth

Chief of Staff

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 + Equity
Location: Hybrid, Los Angeles

Role Description:

As the Chief of Staff (CoS) to the CEO, you will play a vital strategic role in supporting Allstora and ensuring the smooth operation of the executive office, with a particular emphasis on time management and organizational effectiveness. This is a critical role for a fast-growing startup, as you will be responsible for overseeing key internal processes, fostering critical relationships, and driving the company forward in alignment with the CEO's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Time Management: Optimize the CEO's schedule to focus on high-priority tasks and strategic initiatives, identify opportunities to delegate responsibilities, and ensure effective follow-through – this role will require close coordination with the CEO to ensure alignment on the highest priority activities
  2. Meeting Planning and Management: Organize and streamline internal (e.g., All Hands, C-Suite syncs) and external (e.g., investor pitches, business development, board calls) meetings involving the CEO to maximize productivity and track follow-ups
  3. Overseeing Hiring Processes: Take a lead role in creating, managing and refining the hiring processes for key positions across the organization
  4. Internal Communications: Facilitate internal communications, including drafting company-wide updates and briefing the broader team
  5. Project Management: Oversee key projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company OKRs and CEO priorities
  6. Stakeholder Management: Manage and facilitate communications with external stakeholders like investors (e.g., monthly investor updates), key partners (e.g., growth partnership opportunities with publishers or other organizations), and customers (e.g., understanding critical customer needs)
  7. Problem Solving and Decision Support: Provide research, options, and recommendations to support the CEO in addressing challenges across growth, operational effectiveness, financial management, product development, and organizational needs.
  8. Tracking OKRs and Performance: Implement and monitor OKRs across the organization (at the company, functional, and individual levels) to drive alignment and accountability

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience, MBA preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in management consulting and/or in a business operations, strategy or product role at a high growth technology company
  • Strong analytical, and problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Comfort working in a high growth, constantly changing environment
  • Experience in e-commerce, subscription services, or entertainment a plus

Head of Operations

Salary: $110,000 - $160,000 + Equity
Location: Hybrid, Los Angeles

Role Description:

As an essential member of the leadership team, you will shape the core business strategy of a rapidly growing start-up, enabling the company to put as much power and money as possible into the hands of marginalized creators. Your authority will usher the company through a period of exponential growth, optimizing company efficiency by implementing data-driven strategies to streamline operations across departments.  Working closely with the founders and Marketing department, you will evaluate, pilot, and implement new consumer programs, bringing the data-driven insights and experiential expertise needed to achieve lasting success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes across  departments to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives

2. Lead efforts to finalize projected department headcount, source talent, and hire and train new staff  within the department

3. Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely  completion of tasks

4. Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs enterprise-wide, and implement process  improvements to maximize output and minimize costs

5. Develop long-term operational strategies and performance goals, working closely with leadership to  support company objectives

6. Systematize and oversee book clubs, product catalog additions and future vertical expansions

7. Make recommendations on proposed initiatives rooted in data and strategic analysis     

8. Work closely with Technology department to maintain and optimize automatic drop-shipping  infrastructure and implement planned future expansions

9. Oversee customer service to ensure quality and speed of issue resolution

10.  Perform other related duties as required

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4-6 years of operations experience, including at least 1-2 years in a management role
  • Strong background in B2C e-commerce required; experience in high-growth start-ups a plus
  • Proven track record of streamlining and implementing structures and roles that boost speed and  efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands
  • 4. Data analysis proficiency and experience with financial modeling a significant plus       
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by prior professional success
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred

Front End Engineer

Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 + Equity
Location: Hybrid, Los Angeles

Role Description:

As a Front End Engineer at Allstora, you will be a key player in shaping the future of our platform. You will work closely with our CTO and product team to implement new features, improve site performance, and ensure a seamless user experience. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on a product that's gaining rapid traction in the market.

Key Responsibilities:   

  •  E-commerce Site Enhancements: Develop and implement new features to enhance the functionality and user experience of our e-commerce platform.
  • Internal Tooling: Create and maintain internal tools to streamline book club operations and improve efficiency across the team.
  • Subscription Service Development: Lead the development of the next iteration of our subscription service website, ensuring it meets the needs of our growing user base.
  • Community Enhancements: Maintain and improve our community engagement functionality, making it easier for customers to connect and share the books they love.

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in web development, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc.).
  • Experience with back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, etc.).
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and CMS systems (e.g., Shopify, WordPress).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
