Transient Worlds: On Translating Poetry
Transient Worlds: On Translating Poetry is a personal guide to global poetry in translation by 25th US Poet Laureate Arthur Sze. Focusing on an accessible selection of key works, Sze takes readers through nearly two millennia of poetry from every part of the world, constructing fifteen different "zones" of literary discussion with a critical focus on the artistic dimensions of translation itself. To do this, Sze engages multiple translations of the same source poems--as well as original poems written by translators--to explore deep connections between the acts of writing and reading. In Zone 10, for instance, Sze presents two translations of a single poem by Marina Tsvetaeva, the first a well-known standard and the second by a poet who speaks no Russian and employed a Russian-speaking friend to help translate the poem phrase by phrase. In another Zone, Sze presents a famous passage from the Iliad, but rather than present another translation, Sze instead juxtaposes a contemporary poem that uses numerous elements of the Iliad as a springboard to write through the original Greek and into an original work in English.
Ultimately, Sze invites readers to consider their own acts of engaged reading as a creative pursuit, giving them tools to begin translating poems themselves as well tools that will unlock foreign-language works--even from languages of very little familiarity--as inspirational sources. At its core, this unique anthology, published in association with the Library of Congress, showcases a profound goal of global literary citizenship: to open works up to all readers and to encourage poetic creativity at the fundamental level of language itself.

Cynthia's husband is a pioneering researcher in breakthrough cancer treatments. Their only child, Lauren, is set to graduate high school in the spring.
Pretenses shatter the day an ambulance pulls up in front of the Meyers' house and Rachel watches helplessly as Lauren is carried away on a stretcher. Amid their turmoil, Rachel and the Meyers' lives begin to intertwine. When they adopt an ancient spiritual practice called the Counting of the Omer, it leads them down unconventional pathways for answers.
Evening Begins the Day shines a light on the complexity of two families in crisis and their transformation from isolation to community, loneliness to hope and joy.

Flowers Bloom Anyway - A Memoir: Rebuilding a Life You Didn't Choose
The day after she buried her husband, Dr. Liz Fiedler Mergen found out she was pregnant and realized the hardest truth of all: Nobody was coming to save her.Flowers Bloom Anyway isn't a book about how to grieve the "right" way. It's about grieving messy, living loud, telling the truth even when it hurts, and planting beauty anyway. When Liz became a widow overnight, grief didn't come with a guidebook. It came with casseroles, silence, and unsolicited opinions. But through the loss, the loneliness, and the rumors, she kept going. She is raising her daughters, has rebuilt her life, and found glimpses of grace in dirt-covered hands and flower fields.Part memoir, part rallying cry, Flowers Bloom Anyway is a real and redemptive story about unexpected loss, solo motherhood, rural grit, stubborn hope, and the kind of faith people don't earn in a church pew but in the aftermath.Ever wondered, How do I keep going when everything has changed? This is Liz's answer-a story of heartbreak and healing, and how she turned loss into a thriving life and a million-dollar enterprise. -
We Come Here to Starve
In the Midnight Café, everyone is starving for something.
The animals who find this place have nowhere else to go. They cannot find their place in society, in their relationships, or even before God. This decrepit café has become a refuge. A place to hide from a world that has no place for them.
The Fly, the café's quiet owner, serves every animal that wanders into his café. He listens as they each search for belonging, only to arrive at the same painful realization: survival and true belonging cannot coexist.
Come, sit. The Fly has been waiting for you.
We Come Here to Starve is a hand-illustrated philosophical graphic novel about the tension between survival and belonging. A beautiful yet haunting allegory about the collapse of sanctuary, the moral compromises survival demands, and the dangerous hunger to be loved without having to change.
PLEASE READ:
This book explores themes of self-destruction, trauma, and faith. It includes discussions of suicide, abuse, and strong language. If those subjects may be triggering or upsetting for you, please reconsider whether this book is the right fit.
If you'd like to read Paige Parker's work but prefer gentler themes, consider her hand-illustrated book Observations on the Human Condition. A poetic, thought-provoking read that many find beautiful without being intense.

Oath
A lord in a gilded cage.
A knight forged in war.
An oath that binds them tighter than chains.
Lord Aerion Valemont is everything the court whispers; vain, venom-tongued, and untouchable in his sapphires and silk. But behind the peacock feathers lies a man raised in a cage of duty, bitterness, and the crushing weight of a dying dynasty. Better to mock the world than let it see the cracks beneath his mask.
Sir Clyde of Blackholt, the king's most feared hound, arrives sworn to Aerion's protection. A man of war, not words, Clyde's silence is a shield as much as his sword. But in that quiet lies something Aerion cannot ignore: a gaze that sees too much, and a loyalty that cuts deeper than he dares admit.
What begins as venom and disdain becomes something sharper-letters passed through battlefields, glances heavy with what cannot be spoken, a devotion tested by blades, assassins, and the cruelty of court. In the gilded halls of Valemont, where heirs are bartered like coin and bloodlines weigh heavier than desire, a single oath may cost them everything.
For fans of Captive Prince and A Taste of Gold and Iron, this is a lush, slow-burn romantasy about yearning, loyalty, and love that defies crowns and cages.

Wrong Prom Date
A heart-meltingly cute high school rom-com perfect for fans of Jenny Han and anyone who loves a sweet fake relationship, boy-falls-first romance. Hayley and Ethan's story will make you laugh, cry and swoon all at once.
Can a fake relationship land her the prom date of her dreams?
Hayley Lawson has no chance of getting a date to prom. Thanks to a rumor gone wrong, the boys at school are all convinced she's only interested in dating college guys. She certainly isn't holding her breath waiting for someone to ask her to the big dance.
But, when her long-time crush returns to town, Hayley's hopes of landing her dream date suddenly reignite. Owen Beck is everything she's ever wanted in a guy, but after years of waiting, she can't rely on fate alone to bring them together. If she wants to go to prom with him, she's going to have to put her heart on the line and ask him herself. However, her promposal doesn't exactly go to plan, and when Owen's twin swoops in to 'save' her, she ends up in the arms of the wrong brother.
She might still have a chance with Owen though. Ethan knows his brother better than anyone, and he seems to think a bit of good old fashioned jealousy might just get Owen to ask Hayley to the prom himself.
A few weeks faking a relationship shouldn't be too hard. After all, Ethan is nothing compared to Owen. Right?

thousand voices whispering
"a thousand voices whispering is a living archive of memory, grief, and resilience. It is an intimate chorus of voices carried across oceans and generations. Through poetry that moves like both prayer and testimony, Biala transforms family histories of migration, trauma, and survival into sanctuaries of connection and courage. Immediately personal and collective, this collection insists on remembering, even when remembering hurts, and shows how poetry can document, heal, and sustain. It is a vital contribution to the literature of diaspora and survival, a book that will linger like a song refusing silence."
