This book is messy, beautiful, and completely unforgettable. Baldwin wrote about shame and desire with a level of honesty that still feels bold today, and I wish I’d read it way sooner. It’s raw, it’s poetic, and it hits you right in the gut.
Max Emerson is a writer, director, and producer known for creating socially impactful content across film, digital, and commercial platforms. He co-founded A+B Media, serves as Head of Media at Acasus AG, and sits on advisory boards for The Ali Forney Center, SEE Alliance, and LA County’s LGBT Advisory Council. Monthly Book Club subscriptions renew on the 15th of each month. Quarterly subscriptions renew on the 15th every three months from your initial subscription month.
We will announce each month's selection on the 15th of the prior month. If you're not interested in a particular month's book selection, you have the option to skip that month's shipment and receive a gift card for the equivalent amount. If you'd like to opt for the gift card, you have until the 17th to let us know. Plus, if you swap your book for a gift card, you'll still have access to the subscribers-only content portal.
When you sign up for a Book Club subscription, our system will automatically cancel your membership, so you aren't paying double! Membership is a complimentary perk of any Book Club subscription.
For quarterly book club subscriptions, you will be billed every three months on the 15th for the next month's book pick. Depending on the month you sign up, you'll be on one of three cycles.
Cycle 1: You will receive the January, April, July, and October books.
Cycle 2: You will receive the February, May, August, and November books.
Cycle 3: You will receive the March, June, September, and December books.
