Mastering Addictions Counseling prepares students to become effective and credentialed addiction counselors. This is the fourth edition and includes essential updates: expands upon empirically supported, Evidence-Based Practices; includes a discussion of DSM-5 and ICD Code revisions; adopts a workbook style, structures the content based on 123 counselor competences and 12 core functions; highlights assessment tools, cultural and gender diversity, co-occurring disorders, and includes webinar-based CEUs on-demand. The author is a Ph.D.-level psychologist and program director of the Addictions Counselor Education Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
