Feline friends come across an oddly familiar "turtle" when they meet to make mischief in this sweet, funny tale for cat fans and Halloween lovers alike. It's a spooky night in the neighborhood as Carl, Biscuit, Peewee, and . . . Mittens (is that you?) gather under the moon to have fun and maybe get into a bit of trouble. Everyone is in disguise, even the cats! Carl's costume is cute, Biscuit's is scary, Peewee's is lovely, and Mittens's is turtle-ific. As they prowl, the curious cats come upon a haunted house, where they scratch, stalk, peek, and pounce, until suddenly the frightened cats freeze. Nothing to fear, just friends to be made, right? Maybe not! Mistaken identity, a tree-climbing dilemma, and other kitty shenanigans play out in charming illustrations in this story filled with fun, friendship, and plenty of feline antics.
About the Author
About the Author
Jordan Morris is the author of Merry Mittens: A Moontime Cats Christmas Story, the first book in this series. She credits her numerous childhood journals with most of her best book ideas and finds additional inspiration while sitting on a swing. Before she began making her own picture books, she was part of the team of artists, including illustrator Charlie Mylie, who helped create the Rabbit hOle, a museum dedicated to children's literature in Kansas City, Missouri. Jordan Morris lives with her husband, two daughters, and dog under the watchful green eyes of a mercurial black cat named Piranesi. Charlie Mylie works in his basement in Kansas City, Kansas, making words and pictures for children. He has written and illustrated several books as well as collaborated with authors on others, including Out on a Limb and Merry Mittens: A Moontime Cats Christmas Story by Jordan Morris. He has also worked with Jordan Morris at the Rabbit hOle. Charlie Mylie tries to learn from the playfulness of his son and the thoughtfulness of his wife, and from their cat, he is reminded to just lie down in the sun every once in a while.

Working in colored pencil and watercolor, Mylie once more provides shimmery hues on black backgrounds--a look that's tailor-made for a Halloween romp. . . . More mellow holiday antics from the cats who just wanna have fun.
