Aisling, the crown princess of the small European country Vyctorya, has been sheltered her whole life with only her lady-in-waiting, Florence, by her side. She has to be perfect for her parents, and she worries about losing their love, considering that she's a closeted lesbian. With her marriage to the Duke of Belare a week away, she has resigned herself to a loveless fate.

Chava Burke, a girl from America, is reeling from her father's death a year ago which resulted in a move back to her mother's home country of Vyctorya. With the anniversary approaching, Chava feels more lost than ever with no support from her family, a recent break-up with her girlfriend, and a rejection from her dream school, Purdue University.

One day, after Aisling sneaks out of the palace, the two girls run into each other and discover that they look identical.
