Critical Reviews

"I am so grateful to Matz, Pershing, and Harrison for joining forces on this phenomenal workbook. I hear every day from folks in desperate need of this very resource, and these authors have the expertise, experience, and compassion to do this work justice."

--Virginia Sole-Smith, New York Times bestselling author of Fat Talk

"For much of my life, I believed the lie that the size of my body was something to be 'fixed.' The endless pursuit of weight loss through my teenage years into my twenties left me with poor health, debilitating body shame, a suicide attempt, and a years-long eating disorder. In my own journey to fat liberation and health at every size, all three of these authors have published texts and resources respectively that changed my life and granted me a freedom I did not know was possible, so it should come as no surprise that powerhouse trio Judith Matz, Amy Pershing, and Christy Harrison have created a groundbreaking resource that addresses so many aspects of the harm that weight loss fixation has done on our culture. With a wealth of evidence-based information, practical approaches to countering body shame, and disordered eating, and thoughtful space for individuals and clinicians to be curious about their own experiences, it's doubly impressive that the book's language is so accessible. I cannot wait to bring this text to my workshops!"

--Mary Lambert, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and body positive activist

"The Emotional Eating, Chronic Dieting, Binge Eating, and Body Image Workbook is a comprehensive resource for learning how diet culture impacts you and practicing how to navigate it all with compassion instead of quick fixes that don't last. This is the kind of workbook that serves as foundational knowledge to equip you throughout your life and as a go-to resource for immediate advice or strategies at the moment you need them."
