Description

A treehouse becomes the centre of a child's make-believe adventures in this stunning, lyrical picture book.

Sitting high in the branches of a tall tree in the forest, there is a den made from bits of wood, and rope, and Grandma's old parasol. But for one child it is much, much more - it's a castle, a pirate ship, an igloo, a plane. A place to dream.

Joyful and lyrical, This is My Treehouse observes the endless adventures our imaginations can take us on, and the sanctuary offered by a space to call our own.

Critical Reviews

'Building upon imaginative play this story allows readers to believe in worlds beyond what they see in front of them and gives them license to think creatively... A satisfying fantastical journey that speaks to the power of fantasy and the importance of finding one's sanctuary.' --Kirkus Reviews

'Don't you just wanna live and ruminate in this treehouse? [...] Translated from the French, it's not a plot forward book, and that is a-okay. A celebration of one of those rare spaces that belong entirely to kids.' --Betsy Bird, School Library Journal

'Bold colors capture the adventurous spirit of the book... Readers can look forward to being immersed in the simple joys of childhood, and how a little imagination can make everyday experiences magical. A great read for those who dream and play pretend, and the adults who never really stopped.' --YA Books Central

This book is all about imagination, which is easy to have when viewing the illustrations of the treehouse in these most amazing places... A perfect choice for storytimes or sharing one-on-one. -- Youth Services Book Review
