Critical Reviews

"Engaging all students in powerful learning that leads to deep understanding is one of our primary goals as teachers. It is not without challenges, however. In Differentiated Instruction Made Practical, readers will find many strategies, techniques, and practices that will be helpful in meeting the needs of all learners in our increasingly diverse classrooms. Most importantly, readers will find guidance for the continuous decision-making and responsive actions that are at the core of differentiating instruction."

--Ron Ritchhart, EdD, author of Creating Cultures of Thinking

"For any teacher interested in supporting student learning, Differentiated Instruction Made Practical truly lives up to its title. This engaging book introduces a number of different classroom routines that offer ample opportunities for teachers to look, listen, and think about student learning every day. Each chapter is structured around the elements that are essential to differentiated instruction and effective learning. By combining a strong research base with clear step-by-step instructions, this book empowers teachers to intentionally select and implement routines that will improve student learning."

--Daniel Voloch, Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction at New Visions for Public Schools
