Choi Sook Hee estudió Diseño industrial en la universidad de Seúl y se ha dedicado desde entonces a hacer cómics para acompañar a niños tímidos como ella y ayudar a otras madres desde su experiencia de maternidad. Varios de sus cómics se han publicado en el extranjero, y la autora ha recibido el premio a Mejor ilustradora del año de la Feria del Libro Infantil de Bolonia, así como el reconocimiento por su trabajo por parte de la Biblioteca Nacional de Suecia.
