Description

The first full-length adventure from Gosho Aoyama, the legendary creator of Case Closed!

Yaiba Kurogane is an energetic young swordsman who's grown up in the jungle, training to be a samurai with his father, Kenjuro. When they return to Japan, chaos seems to follow wherever Yaiba goes! Destined to be a legendary hero, Yaiba must learn to be a true samurai and save the world!

After Yaiba loses the Thunder Orb during an intense duel with Onimaru, he sets out on a journey to find other legendary Orbs that will grant him new powers. Yaiba and his friends cross the sea to Shikoku, where Yaiba struggles to seize the Water Orb. Then it's off to Mount Aso in Kyushu, where a powerful sorcerer is waiting for them. Meanwhile, Onimaru is furious that his own Fujinken was shattered in their battle and can't be repaired, so he hatches a plan to revive cursed warriors and steal Yaiba's Raijinken for himself!

About the Author

Gosho Aoyama made his debut in 1986 with Chotto Mattete (Wait a Minute), which won Shogakukan's prestigious Shinjin Comic Taisho (Newcomer's Award for Comics) and launched his career as a critically acclaimed, top-selling manga artist. In addition to Case Closed, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2001, Aoyama created the popular manga Yaiba: Samurai Legend, which won the Shogakukan Manga Award in 1992. Aoyama's manga is greatly influenced by his boyhood love for mystery, adventure, and baseball, and he has cited the tales of Arsène Lupin and Sherlock Holmes, along with the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, as some of his childhood favorites.
